Customized board training program
The board of a provincial member-based association needed more than run-of-the-mill director training. The organization was created in a complex governance environment, with multiple roles, legislative requirements and roles that confused the board’s oversight with self-interest. The board wanted a clearer, more confident understanding of how to govern effectively within that context, which called for customized education grounded in its real structure, obligations and challenges.

Diagnose - Non-profit organization, licensed and funded by government
Governance, Organizational and Financial Review
A comprehensive review of an organization licensed to deliver social services and funded by the province. Allegations against a senior leader had brought long-standing tensions about governance and operational effectiveness, to a critical moment.

Building Capability and Implementing Program Policy
A large non-profit organization's key program serving thousands of Canadians across the country was out of date. The policy library had grown to over 800 pages, across more than 140 documents but was inconsistent, difficult for staff and end-users to access, and many items were no longer reflective of the program’s operating principles and strategy.

The organization needed external help to build the policy management capability and help align leadership on key policy orientations.

We stepped in to help draft over 50 policies, design a new internal policy management system, support their program staff -- and get things moving fast.
